A Full Freezer

I am thankful for a full freezer, which means we have been blessed with plenty of food to eat!

Last month, we went to a new meat market (at least new to us).  Outside of the store was about a dozen large pumpkins.  I wrote about my first pumpkin cooking experience here and I had enjoyed the process so much that I was hoping for more pumpkins.  Andrew asked how much the pumpkins were.  Guess what?  The store owner GAVE me SEVEN pumpkins!  How awesome is that?  I know that it was after Halloween, so he was trying to get rid of them, but he still could have charged me a buck or two, but he didn't!  Now my freezer is half full of pumpkin puree (plus I was able to give many bags of pumpkin to my mother-in-law too).

The majority of the other half of our freezer is full of meat.  Andrew loves meat with all of his meals, so I feel very blessed that we were able to fill our freezer with meat at discount prices.  This past weekend, a local grocery store had their holiday sale.  We bought two beef roasts, 14 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 10 pounds of hamburger, six strip steaks, and 8 ribeyes for $80!  I have made a meal plan and we should be able to make meals out of that meat for the remainder of this month as well as most of next month!

We've never gone hungry, so it is easy to take the blessing of nourishment for granted, which is why I wanted to remember it and count it as one of our many blessings today!
